Honda Express
Honda's answer to the gas crisis

// The story
Honda launched the Express in 1977, right as Americans were looking for cheap, fuel-sipping ways to get around after the oil crisis. The original NC50 ran a 49cc air-cooled two-stroke with a one-speed automatic and built-in oil injection, so you never had to premix.
The NA50 Express II arrived in 1979 with a redesigned frame and a bigger seat. In 1981 it got a two-speed automatic transmission. That same year Honda also added the NX50 Express SR, a scooter-style version with an electric starter and Honda's V-Matic automatic.
The Express line ran until 1983, when the Urban Express took over. They're light and simple, and hobbyists still love them today.
