From 1977 to 1979 you could buy a Puch from Sears. The Free Spirit was built by Puch and sold through Sears stores and catalogs.

Every one ran the E50, with 20 mph and 25 mph versions. The frame was a step-through based on the Puch Magnum. There were three: a blue rigid base model, a red suspended model and a silver deluxe with chrome fenders and mag wheels.

Puch and Sears went way back. Puch built motorcycles, mopeds and bicycles for Sears in the 1950s and 60s, including the Free Spirit bicycles. Its cousin is the JCPenney Pinto.
