The Yamahopper

The QT50, better known as the Yamahopper, was built from the late 1970s to the late 1980s. It's a "noped": moped size, no pedals.

Instead of a chain, a solid drive shaft runs to a gear set in the rear hub. It came with things European mopeds of the time often skipped, like oil injection, turn signals and CDI ignition, plus nice paint and chrome.

Stock it does about 30 mph on 14-inch wheels, and the weight sits low and to the back so it feels light in the turns. It shares its drivetrain with Yamaha's Tri-Zinger and PW50 kids' dirt bike, which keeps parts easy to find.
